US army kills Al-Quaeda mastermind deep inside Pakistani territories – Abbottabad, a city with many military establishments. A fortified compound so close to Pakistany army compound can not go unnoticed. How could the citizens and Army executives keep their mouth shut about leader of an enemy insurgent group?
It has been said you should put yourself in others shoes before judging them. I and many others who lived a life of city dweller probably can’t understand how someone could support anyone who kills innocents. There are plenty of citizens of Pakistan who abhor the terrorists, but they are busy enough doing constructive work that they certainly can’t do much about the terrorists.
We Indians have a lot to say about Pakistan sponsored terrorism, let’s do a bit of introspection here. LTTE was an insurgent group that was supported by most Indians for years and by many Tamils even today. Palestinian movement is more wrong than right, India supported it right since its inception, until BJP government pulled the plug. India seems to support some kind of small insurgent groups in Pakistan and Bangladesh. In Pakistan it’s tit-for-tat; in Bangladesh it’s for the Hindus living there. I personally don’t mind the Gujarat riots, even though most of it was irrational and I am a Hindu atheist. Retaliation seems essential, but one mustn’t punish the innocents for believing in one god or another. Let’s compare it to the rural Pakistani population, their religious leaders and their support for insurgency in the name of Allah. I have come to believe over time that they aren’t doing much different from what most of humans do. As an 8-year old or so, I wanted to join the army and kill a lot of Pakistanis, as if every Pakistani is a threat to our sovereignty. Rationality kicked in over time, but from time to time, I had felt hatred towards every non-Indian muslim. I have changed and I am glad I did. I hope the world would become more rational, but also punish the bloody savages in human form before they start acting on their irrational thoughts.
US army just did one big favour for entire human populace by killing Osama. I know a few innocents die in such attempt to save humanity, and I don’t want to be one of those innocent casualties of war against terrorism, but then if this was in part of India where I live, I would work to eradicate them by all means possible. And in such situation, if I feel that I am doing something better with my life, I would just run away to do that ‘better’ thing. Israel attacked Hezbollah for ~10 Israeli deaths and I really respect their decision makers for the war they started in retaliation. My country could learn this aspect from Israel and US, terrorist outfits like Indian Mujahideen and any other terrorist organisation must be eradicated and all the rational humans living in India should help the government on it.
I don’t hate all Pakistanis, I hate the weakness of their elected government in handling insurgency, I hate the dirty tricks of ISI that harms not only India but also most Pakistanis, I hate the terrorist outfits flourishing on their land. US have access to Pakistan and they are most capable of saving Pakistan from the situation they have brought themselves in. US aren’t just saving their country and Pakistan, they are also saving humanity in this attempt. I thank the American government and their army for the work they are doing!
